Two afternoons ago, in Luzhou, there was a middle-aged man with a crowbar, prying open the seats of motorcycles to get to the storage compartments to steal what was inside, there were passersby who’d bore witness to his behaviors, managed to record down the entire process with his cell, but, the passerby didn’t notify the police first, instead, he’d posted the photos he took onto an online discussion board, and, the online community grilled him hard, yesterday, the police had caught the thief, and called out to the citizens, that if they bore witness to a crime, it’s best, that they’d called up the police first.
Yesterday at around two in the afternoon, the PTT of Sanchong had an article, about a member of the online community, bearing witness to a middle aged man, stealing items from the storage compartment of the motorcycles, and a member of the online community had recorded down the entire process, then, posted an article about it on PTT, and, the online community started questioning, “did you call the police?” “Shouldn’t you notify the police on this sort of matters first?”, and, afterwards, the posting was taken down.
A patrol officer from the Sanming Subprecinct just happened to catch this posting, right before it was pulled off, he’d saved the article, transferred the information to his other coworkers, and that afternoon at around four, the patrol officers, Lee and Hsieh passed through the area, and immediately caught this thief in action, and found, that it was the forty-three year-old man, Jiang who is unemployed, with multiple priors in theft.
After Jiang was arrested, he’d claimed that he was “curious and wanted to open the seats for fun”, the police confiscated crowbars and other tools off of him, and yesterday, booked him based off of theft charges.
The police stated, that there would be patrol officers online, to keep a tight watch on the goings on of the neighborhoods, so, this time, that, was why the patrol officer was able to know about this thief, but, they’d hoped that if the citizens are witnessing such events, they could call the police first.
And so, this, is how the connection of the internet is SCREWING this god DAMN world over, now, when you bear witness to some sort of bad thing, like theft, hit-and-run, you’d not dial the local emergency numbers or the police, instead, you’d take photos of the events, posted it onto your social networking sites, are you F***ING (maxed out, remember???) shitting me here???
