The All-Girls’ High School Had Prevented an Adolescent Woman from Becoming a Child Bride, and She Arrived from Bengal to Thank the School for Sponsoring Her

Getting an education IS the key to changing one’s own life here, from the Newspaper, translated…

Santona, a Bengalese young woman, because of being sponsored by students in Taiwan, it’d saved her from the fate of becoming a child bride, yesterday, she’d gone to the school, that initiated the sponsoring process, to show her gratitude, sat in with the students in their art classes, learned to write Chinese calligraphy with the students as well; when everybody saw the legendary Santona, they were all so very excited, and, heard her talked of how she wanted to help others too, the students were even more inspired, hoped, that they could all be like her, chase after their own dreams.

Based off of statistical measures, there are about sixty million young women who’d become “child brides” per year, and, two million of these young ladies before the age of fourteen, became “children-mothers”, and became a “tool” for reproduction, without any chance of getting an education; the thirteen-year-old Santona, because of how poor her family was, she’d almost married a stranger who’s ten years her senior, gladly, the WorldVision Organization of Taiwan helped her turn her fate around.

The WorldVision Organization used Santona’s, as well as other young ladies’ stories, to put forth the “Plan to Help Out Children Born to Poverty”, last year, they’d managed to get seventeen all-girls’ schools to answer the calls, and, through the creativities of the various campuses, they’d worked hard, to fight for the rights of these young girls, there were fifteen classes from Jing-Ling All-Female High School that sponsored twenty-three girls from the less developed nations, and, all of these girls were eligible in receiving $700 N.T.s per month.

Santona had flown abroad for the very first time in her life, to make the program more well-known, yesterday, she’d shared her dreams with the students from Jing-Ling All-Girls’ High School, for instance, how she wanted to become a doctor, to help others, or, to have rights on deciding on the legislations of families, and the societies, she also hoped, that she could bring about awareness, to more children on their own rights.

“We’d just given one another a hug, I’m truly moved”, the female students, Cheng and Yang who were involved in the adopting children from poverty stricken nations, and selling their hand drawn stickers for fundraising last year told, that they’d only heard Santona’s story, without expecting, that she would actually show up at the school, and they had the chance of interacting with her, and, it’d allowed everybody to get more knowledge of what’s going on in the other nations out there.

In the future, other than continuing helping the children from poverty stricken nations, they’d hoped to give more care by providing assistance, to help children like Santona, especially the girls, to help them turn their own lives around, so they too can, have a chance, at pursuing their own dreams.

So, this, is what is learned, by these high school girls, they had the heart to help someone out, and, meeting the person their assistance went to face-to-face had become another wakeup call to them, and, they’re more than willing, to help other children from less fortunate background out even more.
