Knowing the law, AND breaking it too, an officer of the law, committing a crime, knowingly, and, he got punished for it too, from the Front Page Sections, translated…
A police officer, Tsai last year used the excuse of wanting to discuss the specific of a case, entered into Chou’s, the person who’d reported an incident, room, then, said that he’d smelled the smoke of ketamine, and threatened her, and got away with raping her; the Taipei D.A.’s office prosecuted Tsai based off his abuse of power, and asked the judge to give him four years six months’ jail sentence.
But because Chou, the victim didn’t testify in court, the Taipei D.A.’s office dropped the charges, but the High Court’s district attorney thought that there were flaws in the prosecution, and asked to review the case again; the D.A. had Chou told them what happened, Tsai still denied rape, but, the D.A. based off of the settlement agreements reached by the officer and the victim, that Tsai was, involved.
Afterwards, the office Tsai was given a reprimand, and stropped of his gun and demoted, and the police department are waiting for the verdict, then deciding on what his punishment would be.
The indictment by the D.A. pointed out, that Tsai (age 25) received a tip in May of last year from Chou stating that someone she knew was involved with substance abuse, after he had Chou filled out the basic information, he’d added Chou as a friend on LINE.
That very evening, Tsai went to Chou’s house, said he wanted to discuss the specifics of the case, and asked to get into her house to check, Chou didn’t want to offend him, and so, she’d agreed. After Tsai entered into her apartment, he’d used the excuse of “I smelled ketamine” and, “aren’t you afraid that he might get you back for reporting him?”, and other reasons, signaled that she should have sex with him, and he was able to rape her.
The D.A. investigated and found, that the woman and the officer signed an agreement of reconciliation; and, as they’d called the mediator, and found that in the process of the investigations, there wasn’t any argument, that Tsai had apologize to Chou in person, and wrote down what he did on the agreement of reconciliation; the D.A. believed, that Tsai knew the law, and if he hadn’t really done it, then, he wouldn’t have agreed to settle with the woman, and confirmed, that Tsai had committed a crime.
So, this is, another case of power rape, the officer here used his status as a police officer, to make the woman have sex with him, without her consent, and, he’s caught for it.
